Fantastic Football

On Wednesday, I accompanied the football teams to their matches against Charter House Square School and was greatly impressed by the determination and true grit that was displayed on the pitch. Despite the bitterly cold wind and some rather blue lips, our children played on regardless. Sophia in Year 5 was the Player of the Match for the girls’ team. She performed some excellent passes and very nearly scored a goal from well outside the box! Had she done so, the girls would have equalised the game. Despite having most of the possession, they very narrowly lost to Charter House by a last minute goal.

Jean Paul was the Player of the Match for the boys’ team with his brilliant goalkeeping; he saved numerous balls and did a particularly impressive dive that meant the boys won their match 1:0. It was great to see so many parents there and I was extremely touched by Finlay who went up to his mother and thanked her for coming to watch him. What lovely manners, Finlay!
