Fees for the academic year 2018 – 2019 are £5,395 per term. Fees are inclusive of all books and stationery but additional charges may apply for residential visits and other school trips where appropriate.
In the nursery, pupils may attend for full days, full weeks or for half day sessions as deemed appropriate. These fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Fees for after-school care – Nursery to Year 6
3.45 – 5.00 £520 per term pro rata
3.45 – 5.45 £650 per term pro rata
If more than one child from the same family attends the school, a reduction of 10% is made for the second and each subsequent child. Reductions do not apply to after-school activities, holiday courses, educational visits or residential experiences.
A full term’s notice in writing must be given to cancel the acceptance of a place or to withdraw a child from the school. Unless such notice is given, a full term’s fees are payable before the child finishes at The Lyceum, in lieu of notice. For this purpose notice must match school term not half terms.
A non-refundable registration fee of £100 is payable when an application form is submitted to the school. This does not mean that a place is available. Your child will be placed on a list for the appropriate year of entry.
A deposit of £2000 (£5000 for reception class) is payable on acceptance of a place. This deposit will be returned after the last term’s fees have been paid. Deposits are taken in the October prior to entry. Once the deposit is paid the school assumes the child will attend.
Nursery Voucher Grants
The Lyceum is registered with the London Borough of Hackney. Therefore, all children who attend Nursery or Reception (until their 5th birthday) are entitled to a Nursery Voucher Grant each term as long as they do not attend another registered setting.
The school can arrange individual tuition for musical instruments and singing. Vocal lessons are normally offered only to older juniors and only after a successful audition. Instrumental and vocal lessons take place both during the school day and after school, and cost £195 for a course of 10 half-hour lessons. Parents are invoiced soon after the beginning of the term. This cost also includes ensemble training at the right time and inclusion in orchestra and Chamber Choir where appropriate.
From time to time children are taken out of school for educational visits to support the curriculum. Parents will be asked to pay, and will be notified in advance by letter. There is usually one visit per half term and where possible we use public transport.
The school arranges occasional visits to dance, music and drama performances, sometimes offering these out of school time. Parents will be asked to pay the full cost.
Residential visits are organised on a regular basis for children in years 3-6. Such visits are planned well in advance and parents fully informed. The oldest children are offered an annual opportunity to travel to a European city, and parents are asked to pay the full cost.
The current programme of after school activities, and the costs, are available on request.
