Year 5 and 6 visit Queen Mary University

On Tuesday 16th October, Year 5 and 6 visited the Centre of the Cell, a science education centre based at Queen Mary University. They took part in a really fun session where they learned all about the heart, taking it in turns to act out the ways in which cells function within the blood. It was also really interesting to discover that some animals have different circulatory systems to humans.

After lunch, everyone got to visit the embryo shaped pod, suspended over real biomedical research laboratories! Here, they learned about the amazing world of cells, the human body and latest medical research. A super science filled day of fun was had by all!
