Moral & Spiritual Development
We place great emphasis on the moral and spiritual development of the children, We have an active religious education programme encompassing all major religions and a programme of personal social education. There is a non-denominational Christian ethos in the school Children are encouraged to discuss issues of importance, respect the views of others and to support, through charity work, those less fortunate than themselves and causes which arise from their work in the community.
We also have strong links in our local community and recently have acquired a plot of land to cultivate in Bunhill Fields. We place great importance on team work, working in small groups and pairs to develop skills of co-operation and negotiation as well as the development of a strong personal independent work ethic. Religious education is taught in class. An assembly is held once a week, usually led by the children, this will often, but not always, include Christian prayers and/or hymns. Children from all faiths are welcome. Parents are also welcome to attend our assemblies.
We hold our Christmas service at the Wesleyan Chapel and celebrate Easter and the Harvest Festival at school.
