We learn about the history of Paul Street!

Monday of this week saw a visit to school by Mike Dennison of McClaren Construction and Ian the archaeologist who spoke in assembly about the finds from the hotel building site next door.

He spoke about the history of the site, showed a 1799 map of the area in and around Paul Street and explained the history of the area from that time to the present. The children were able to view and handle some of the archaeological finds from the site, including several clay pipes, a cow’s horn, pottery and part of a Victorian toilet pan!
