Admissions
The Lyceum educates children between the ages of 3 and 11 years. We are able to offer places in our Early Years department at any time – there are no entrance assessments and places are offered on a first come first served basis. However, where a parent indicates that their child may have a special need or medical or behavioural condition, then the child will have an assessment based on observation and reports from previous carers and other agencies.
Parents wishing to apply for a place in other parts of the school undergo an assessment to determine that they will be able to access the curriculum and have a sufficient standard of reading, communication and social skills to allow a successful transition into the school.
The school makes the final decision about entrance and children from all backgrounds are welcome. We do not stream our intake.
The school has a small number of clear rules which parents accept by signing their terms and conditions. There is a clear emphasis on traditional manners and good behaviour is expected at all times. Pupils who are disruptive may be asked to leave the school. The school has a Behaviour Policy that can be viewed on request.
Prior to entry, parents need to read and complete the application form carefully and note that there is a non-refundable registration fee. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the offer of a place.
