Sustainability Week

We’ve had another very exciting Sustainability Week at The Lyceum this week!

On Monday, Miss Graden started off the week with a whole school assembly about energy and waste, with a specific focus about how human actions are contributing to climate change and what we can do to help. In the afternoon, the Eco Team headed out to the local streets and parks in our community to do some litter picking. They enjoyed tidying up our local area so much that they have asked Miss Graden when they can do it again next!

This week also saw the launch of our food recycling programme. Each classroom, and of course the lunch hall, now have a food waste recycling bin to ensure that we are properly disposing of any food scraps. What a great step towards reducing our carbon footprint!

Another highlight from the week included our very successful Second-Hand Uniform Sale. We are greatly appreciative for your support, both in the form of your donations and purchases. Together we have helped to eliminate a large number of clothing items from ending up in the landfill.
