Step Inside The Lyceum School: Join Us for Our Open Days
There’s no truer way to feel the heartbeat of The Lyceum School than by walking through our doors. That’s exactly what our Open Days are all about: giving you and your family the chance to see our vibrant community in action.
What is a School Open Day?
A school open day is your chance to explore a school from the inside. You’ll meet teachers, pupils, and senior staff, tour the facilities, and get a real sense of what everyday life feels like here. Think of it as a window into your child’s future school days.
Why Open Days Matter
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most exciting and important decisions you’ll make. An Open Day is your chance to step inside and experience what life here is really like. You’ll meet staff and pupils, see classrooms in action and get a sense of the warmth, creativity and energy that make a school more than just a place to learn. As you walk through lessons and corridors, notice how teachers and children interact, the curiosity in the classroom and the confidence of the pupils. These small details often tell you the most.
Questions to Ask during the School Open day
It is also the perfect time to ask questions that matter to you and your family. For example: How does the school bring its values to life every day? What support is in place if my child needs extra help? How is creativity encouraged alongside core subjects like maths and English? What opportunities are there for enrichment beyond the classroom? How do teachers communicate with parents? What do children say they enjoy most about coming to school? At The Lyceum, we believe these conversations, combined with the atmosphere you feel during your visit, are the best guide to knowing if our school is the right place for your child to flourish.
Top 5 questions You Can Take to Any School Open Day
- What support is available if my child needs extra help or stretch in their learning?
- How do teachers and the school keep parents informed and involved in their child’s progress?
- How do you balance creativity with academic rigour across the curriculum?
- What opportunities are there for enrichment beyond the classroom, such as clubs, trips or performances?
- How does the school bring its values to life in everyday lessons and activities?
