To prepare for Chinese New Year, Year 2 have begun learning a traditional Chinese dance, the ‘Lion Dance’. Last week, they practised crawling and pouncing like lions, then tried the stylised moves of the dance in pairs. This week, we added a length of colourful fabric to mimic the elaborate traditional lion costumes and the children found that they need to adjust their movements quite a lot to work with the fabric.
