Mr Budgen is an artist specialising in Model Making and Illustration. He graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design with a BA (Hons) in 3-dimensional design chief study Metalwork. He also has a diploma in General Art and Design and has also studied Silversmithing and Guitar Making. Professionally He works with many Corporate and individual clients on a very wide range of projects. He has also enjoyed working in collaboration with many other artists and creators.
His work has been shown in museums including the V&A, on television and advertising campaigns. His illustrations have appeared in several books and other publications.
He has taught individual adults and children as well as classes. He was a visiting lecturer at Liverpool University teaching model making to students of Architecture and Urban Planning. He believes it is important to explain Art in context of both culture and history giving students an understanding of how it relates to their lives. He is passionate in developing solid foundations in Art through drawing and observation. He also believes that children can develop important life skills through hands-on making.
Outside of school Mr Budgen enjoys learning new skills. He is learning to play several musical instruments, practices yoga and studies local history. He takes a keen interest in community and environmental activities and is always involved in a number of different projects. He is a supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion and has worked with the club on several projects.
