Today we were delighted to welcome Chairman of Dukes Education, Aatif Hassan to The Lyceum to officially open our brand new STEAM Studio The Owlery.
On Friday 15th September 2023 we welcomed Lyceum parents and educators from across Dukes Education to join us in celebrating the launch of our Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEAM) Studio.
Our school community has been buzzing with excitement in anticipation of the launch of The Owlery since it was announced in Summer Term 2023.
Aptly named ‘The Owlery” by one of our children, this new room is a free flowing, future-focused classroom where our pupils are be given the time and space to think critically and creatively – complete with a Minecraft inspired tree!
Paul Clifford, our new Head of STEAM and Computing, has already been making strides with our pupils who have been getting to grips with coding and making the most of their new classroom. You can read more about the work so far here.
At the launch Aatif Hassan spoke of the importance of a future-focussed education that truly develops the skills needed to thrive in the modern world, a sentiment echoed by Headmaster Mike Stanley who also thanked key individuals who worked hard to bring the room to life.
