Tower of London

Years 5 and 6 children enjoyed a trip to The Tower of London yesterday, where they took part in a workshop handling different artefacts. It was interesting to discover that some Tudors wore ‘pattens’ – these were wooden shoes (which look a bit like open clogs) worn over normal shoes to protect women’s feet from the mud and human waste in the streets! 🤢

After lunch, the group visited the torture chambers and got to see the sparkling crown jewels!
