This week, Year 6 hosted a heartwarming Poetry Together event with residents from a local care home. The pupils performed their class poem on friendship, beautifully incorporating sign language actions to enhance their recitation. Afterwards, they enjoyed having tea with the elderly guests, sharing stories and creating meaningful connections.
In the heart of friendship, we gather near,
At Poetry Together, where voices are clear.
The Lyceum Year 6 lead the way,
Bringing us closer in each and every way.
With tea, cake, and companions by our side,
We share happiness from the inside.
Coming together, as we perform here,
We create a bond, which we hold dear.
In harmony, our words flow true,
Connecting hearts and creating something new.
In this circle, we all belong,
Each friendship is incredibly strong.
So here’s to friendship, pure and right,
At Poetry Together, we shall unite.
