We are evacuees!

As the death & destruction began, 18 young pupils were evacuated to Suffolk – an experience that will change their lives………

When they arrived at The Hall at Milden, they left their comfort zone as they began working on the farm. They learnt the life skills they would need for the 5 years of living in the countryside, such as plucking and gutting pigeons. They had to make sure they were completely rid of their feathers because later on they did eat pigeon. Two brave boys and two brave girls volunteered to pull the guts out!
They also took part in skinning a deer and seeing where venison came from. They also did lots of other interesting activities such as checking up on the new-born lambs, rat catching, darning, baking and so on. It was very exciting and helpful.
