Children’s Mental Health Week

This week has been Children’s Mental Health Week. It started with a whole school assembly on Monday where Mrs. Taggart talked about overcoming fears and ‘finding your brave’. This was followed by an abridged version of David and Goliath, where the message was given that no matter how small that you may be, if you have faith in yourself, you can overcome any big problems.

The theme of ‘finding your brave’ was reinforced in PSHE lessons throughout the school and children were able to talk about the fears they had and think how they might overcome them. Year 1 created ‘resilience shields’ and wrote inspiring messages on them such as, keep going, don’t give up and be resilient.
