Dear Parents and Friends of The Lyceum School,
Whatever you are doing tomorrow morning, we hope you will all take the time to watch our special Remembrance Assembly. The assembly is just over 35 minutes long and 30 minutes into the recording there is a 2 minute silence. We will be turning on the video at 10.30am in each bubble so that we can watch together as a community, and we would love it if you would do the same in your homes or your offices. We are so sad that we cannot all be together in the hall, but maybe we can connect with our hearts instead. Do feel free to share the link with friends and family too.
The assembly is the culmination of a lot of hard work from our Year 6 pupils and our Chamber Choir. It includes singing, dancing and a fascinating talk by our special guest, Captain Fletcher, who talks about the role that animals played and are still playing in the armed forces. At the end of the assembly, we are joined by our adorable school dog, Socks, who is helping to keep us all calm and happy.
A huge thank you to captain Fletcher and all of The Lyceum staff who helped to make the assembly so memorable, and to Chloe for her technical skills that have made it possible for us to share it with you all. Please also note the beautiful poppy collage in the background that was created by the children in their art lessons with Mrs Kidd. We have included a picture of Captain Fletcher standing next to it when it has been turned the right way up!
We hope you enjoy the assembly.
Warm wishes
Mrs Wyatt
