A message from our Headmaster

Her Majesty the Queen

Dear Parents,

I am writing following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Today we are a school, a community, and a nation in mourning as we grieve for the loss of our beloved monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Having reigned for 70 years, she has devoted her life to the service of this country and in the days ahead, we will acknowledge her life and service and pay respects in recognition of her unwavering loyalty to us a nation and how she has inspired millions around the world. I will share further details with you when we have them.

Our priority is to your children and as a staff team, we will be available, open and understanding with any questions they may have. This morning, we held a short, intimate assembly, acknowledging the passing of The Queen and we are extremely conscious of the fact that families will wish to respond to this news in their own way and that some children may find bereavement and mourning a difficult topic. If you have any concerns about your child at this time, then please do contact me.

The Lyceum will continue to be open as usual, although it is our intention to observe any National Day of Mourning announced by the government. Similarly, although we are not planning on cancelling any activities at present, we will be mindful of their tone and style.

With warm wishes,

Mike
