To mark 100 years since the end of the First World War, Year 6 have been extremely busy! For over a week, they have been selling poppies outside of school to parents and friends. Many members of the public have also stopped to give donations and purchase their poppies too.
On Friday, Year 6 led a thought-provoking assembly. They explained how the war began, read diary entries from war animals and showed the poppies they had created during art lessons, through mediums such as clay and recycled plastic bottles. They even went back in time to 1914 on the Western Front where they re-enacted the Christmas truce between the English and German soldiers.
