Tower of London

Years 5 and 6 children enjoyed a trip to The Tower of London yesterday, where they took part in a workshop handling different artefacts. It was interesting to discover that some Tudors wore ‘pattens’ – these were wooden shoes (which look a bit like open clogs) worn over normal shoes to protect women’s feet from the mud and human waste in the streets!

After lunch, the group visited the torture chambers and got to see the sparkling crown jewels!
